Be Your Own Healer

 Feeling a little lost, disconnected and disenchanted with the spiritual awakening of the mass population at the moment.

Does it feel like your best friend has turned hippy and has left you for life in the "light"? Let me guess; she has found a "healer" that holds the secrets to the universe! Well, all I can say is.

"Get out your sage and don your mala beads, sister!" But I'll let you in on lil' secret; You can be your own healer.

You are born a human before you are born a healer.  

We are all given the innate wisdom of self-restoration and healing as we are born with a deep connection with the earth and stars. You do it all the time when you choose food that will make you feel good or a herbal tea knowing that it can lift energy; even choosing music to calm your nerves is a form of self-healing. You know what makes you feel good, right.

Simply put, being a healer is about being mindful that there is a spiritual presence in all things aka consciousness. To boot many of us feel that we are in "partnership" or believe in some other higher force or being, give it any name you wish; God, Spirit, Lord, Jehovah, Source, Theos, etc.

Being a healer is a matter of having faith that you are part of something bigger. It's the realisation that you exist to experience living and learning alongside others, and that all experiences can either strengthen or weaken you; and it's for this reason that I, daily, choose a path of strength, love, acceptance, and compassion of all.

There are many different healing modalities, and each modality and every practitioner, shaman, and psychic will have a unique way of working their talents and gifts; similarly in the same way that no two doctors are alike.

Some of the more well-known practices often taught for self-healing are Reiki, Meditation, Mindfulness, Aromatherapy, Sound Therapy, Biofeedback Therapy, Acupressure, Qigong and Shamanic healing of all variants.

As unbelievable as it sounds, I believe that everyone, even children, can be taught to heal. Obviously, this is not to say that you shouldn't experience what it is like to work with a healer.  Working with a healer is an incredibly touching experience that changes lives, but there are a time and place where you, the "home healer", can balance your own emotions and chakras with practices like Essential oils, Mindfulness, and my favourite - Reiki.
